New Haven, CT 3rd alarm 277 Sherman St. dwelling fire.
06/24/23 New Haven, CT - Truck 4 arrived to find heavy fire on two floors of a private dwelling. Companies went to work on their respective tasks but were hampered by a burst hose line as well as an advanced fire condition. The fire quickly took hold of the dwelling advancing into the walls on all floors. Companies continued to operate on the interior as the fire continued to spread throughout the third floor accelerated by the balloon frame construction. It spread via the knee walls and eaves. A third alarm was transmitted as firefighters worked to bring the fire under control. The fire would eventually vent through the roof in multiple places before companies were able to bring the fire under control. Three firefighters were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
