05/08/17 New Haven, CT - A reported AFA and with smoke in the building turned companies out. Engine Company Eleven could see black smoke from the roof upon turning out of quarters. The arrived on scene reporting a working fire on the roof of a three story ordinary. A further investigation revealed a fire in an AC/air handler unit on the roof which had also spread to the decking surrounding it. Two hand lines were stretched and operated for a quick knockdown. The trucks performed salvage and overhaul as the fire was brought under control.
