New Haven 2nd alarm 388 Blatchley Ave
07/23/16 New Haven, CT - Firefighters from New Haven's east side were called to 388 Blatchley Ave for a dwelling fire. Upon arrival of the 1st due company a second alarm was transmitted. The original fire building, a two and half story, wood frame, had fire issuing from the first floor exposing to the number 1 and 4 side dwellings. Firefighters attempted to make an interior attack, but were withdrawn for an exterior operation. The fire extended to the second and third floors before being brought under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation. One firefighter was taken to an area hospital for minor injuries. Several families were left homeless.
