New Haven 2nd alarm 24 Downing St dwelling fire

08/14/16 New Haven Firefighters were called to this address for an early morning dwelling fire. Companies found an heavy fire condition on the first floor of a two and a half wood frame, dwelling. Multiple lines were stretched as the heavy fire extended to the second floor. The house was occupied at the time of the early morning fire. Initially, there were reports of one civilian unaccounted for. However, the primary and secondary searches proved negative. Firefighters were able to knock the fire down within forty five minutes. Not before heavy damage was done to the home. Multiple civilians were left homeless as a result.
