Bridgeport 3rd alarm 215 Charles St. condo fire

12/31/2015 Bridgeport, CT - An early morning auto fire under the complex, quickly extended throughout the entire structure. Firefighters were overwhelmed by the smoke and heat generated by the fire and had to retreat. The fire extended throughout the structure eventually causing a structural collapse. The structure was lightweight construction further assisting the fire spread. Companies remaine in the scene throughout New Year's eve dousing hot spots. An excavator was brought to the scene to tear town the remaining structure.
